An established, independently run estate agency in Leicester is looking for a confident and commercially astute Lettings Manager to lead and grow its residential lettings department. This is more than just managing a diary and overseeing compliance. You will shape the direction of the lettings business, build long-term landlord relationships and create a high-performing culture within the branch.
The Opportunity
As Lettings Manager, you will:
- Drive sustainable portfolio growth across Leicester and surrounding areas
- Maximise branch profitability through strong fee negotiation and upselling of services
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of negotiators and property managers
- Build lasting relationships with landlords, investors and local developers
- Ensure full compliance with current lettings legislation and best practice
- Position the branch as a go-to lettings specialist in the local market
You will have the autonomy to make decisions, implement new ideas and refine processes that improve both customer experience and financial performance.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct market appraisals and convert instructions
- Oversee tenancy progression from instruction to move-in
- Monitor pipeline performance and drive new business generation
- Carry out landlord meetings and portfolio reviews
- Support the team with negotiations and complex queries
- Ensure compliance with current UK lettings legislation and company procedures
- Review and improve marketing strategies for available stock
- Manage targets, reporting and branch KPIs
- Handle escalated maintenance or tenancy matters where required
About You
You are already operating at Senior Negotiator or Lettings Manager level and are ready to take full accountability for a department. You understand the Leicester rental market, know how to win instructions and take pride in delivering a professional, knowledgeable service.
